Minna Pegeen was content to rule over her inn on the western corner of the mountains. When the Companions arrive and declare her adopted brother Tabare to be their dying king’s grandchild, Pegeen abandons her inn to accompany them to the Sea Kingdom. During the journey, she becomes servant, advisor, healer, and friend to the Companions and they turn more and more often to her for leadership and wisdom. By the time Tabare is crowned king, the Companions realize they have made a horrible mistake.
Tabare’s reign turns from monarchy to depravity. Pegeen rebels against him and he banishes her. Returning to her inn, she is attacked by Nashoban. They leave her to die, hanging from the boughs of an ancient oak. As the Companions nurse her back to health, they make plans to rectify their mistake and establish Minna Pegeen as the true heir of the Sea Kingdom.
I don't know the title or artist of this beautiful music, I found it as S_ListG on one of my many adventures through midi-land. But I thought it captures the haunting and enduring love Minna Pegeen has for the men in her life. RECENT Booksignings
